Mamdani Offers Hope For Disillusioned

(NEW YORK, NY) - The Radical Times Media & News Co-operative is offering the following voting guide for the democratic primary for New York City's next mayor. Personally, as a born and raised New Yorker, I have seen a succession of mayor after mayor that have progressively degraded in quality- Mr. Zohran Mamdani, is a break with this depressing trend.

The Radical TImes suggests the following voter guide for all registered Democrats residing in New York City; Zohran Mamdani #1, Brad Lander #2, Adrienne Adams #3-5, Scott Stringer #3-5, Zellnor Myrie #3-5.

We have chosen to have Mr. Zohran Mamdani and Mr. Brad Land as our #1 and #2 choices respectively because these candidates both provide a pair of competent and progressive hands that will make our city a better, more equal, and fairer place. Mamdani in particular is a breath of fresh air for progressives, who have faced numerous onerous defeats at the hands of the far-right in recent years. The election of Mr. Mamdani will allow the progressive left to rejuvenate and give new life to the progressive movement in our increasingly divided and far-right nation.

Mamdani's strong program of 200,000 publically owned houses, a rent freeze on all rent stabilized units, and the creation of city-run grocery stores to add a deflationary pressure on food and other goods show that Mamdani is strongly committed to making New York affordable again, and taking steps to stop the increasingly desperate situation of gentrification.

On a personal leve, Mr. Mamdani's identity as an immigrant resonates with the Editor-In-Chief as a first generation American. Mamdani represents the American dream, in so far that it has or ever did exist. Mamdani in his success and in his policies represents true, unabashed, unfiltered hope for the City, while some candidates may embrace a return to 2010, and may scoff at the ideals that movements like MeToo prusued, Mamdani, Lander, and all the candidates we've endorsed are a step forward, whilst most of the other candidates are a leap backwards.

We cannot afford in this moment to look back on past glories that led us to our current situation of despair and failure, we must look to new politicians and candidates to lead our great city into a brighter future, Mamdani, Lander, and all our endorsed candidates can more then do this.
