(CAMBRIDGE, MA) — The rightists like to pretend that they are part of a long tradition, that they have a monopoly on the idea of virtue (in ancient Greek, ἀρετή). They are very wrong. They are wrong in the sense that they do not subscribe to a virtuous ethics, despite their love of marble statue profile pictures on various social media networks that shall remain unnamed. They espouse an inherently unethical, unvirtuous, and simply stupid ideal. In fact, the right isn't just that, hey areevil if we use their framing.
There may be many unvirtuous sophists who will claim to be lovers of knowledge or wisdom (φιλοσοφία) as though most wouldn’t also claim to be the same. In fact, this article claims that socialistic ethics and Marxist humanism, which this journalist prescribes to take part in (although perhaps could be better described as an Absurdist in the vein of Camus).
In fact, one may reasonably believe it is because of our (socialists and radicals alike) love of humanity, want of wisdom, and a greater society beyond the simplistic and unnatural competitive nature of markets that we strive for the communistic ideal of a stateless, classless, and moneyless society. Can you believe that this is a virtuous goal for society? No? Yes? Well, no matter your answer, this article will further attempt to prove that we, in fact, are the most virtuous side of the political equation.
For one, even Platanists would agree that a society that exploits the worst natural and most base parts of humanity is anti-human. As I have previously explained in published work on The Radical Times online publication, exploiting humanity’s competitive instincts and taking away the freedom from poverty and from having to work for life is something that is both anti-human, but also anti-science, and anti-advancement.
It is in fact when humans join to collaborate that we make the most beautiful art, the most advanced science, and think the best thoughts for all of our society. There is a reason that the West only beat the Soviet Union after the USSR had sent the first sateliete had been sent to space. That reason being that socialistic science prioritizes the good of humanity, and capitalistic science prioritizes beating the other guy.
That’s not a virtuous system. In fact, it’s evil. It’s something that exploits the worst of us, and claims to work for all of us whilst actually using the hierarchical nature of capital and money to exploit us all and rob us of real scientific achievements.
