Centrist Dem's Campaign to Smear Hasan Piker Is A Stupid Idea

(CHESTERTOWN, MD) – Hasan Piker has unquestionably had a hold of the young, progressive, and online left for some time. However, it is only recently became true that Piker has seen some lauding and praise in establishment media, with profiles in the New York Times, GQ, and The Observer. It seems that this praise of a popular figure among progressives who openly calls himself a socialist and has a particular hold among the demographic of young men, who the democratic party had completely lost in the 2024 presidential election and may well have in part won Trump the presidential election; has caused some strife within the party in its perpetual struggle between its leftist factions and its establishment figures.
Recently, Piker has come under flak by a larger number of establishment figures and large voices within the party for alleged antisemitism, which comes as Piker has been meeting with more candidates for office more regularly and has begun giving speeches on college campuses more regularly.
These attacks will not help the democrats with the demographic they’re trying to win, nor are they likely to galvanize a treasure trove of young centrist democrats that pressure Piker off of the Twitch platform. In fact, in 2024, Congressman Richie Torres and others signed a letter to Twitch’s CEO calling for Piker to be removed from the platform for his anti-zionist activism and what they termed as his antisemitism. This attempt was, obviously, not successful.
As of the publication of this article, the latest data accessible shows that Hasan Piker is not only the largest democratic leaning content creator on Twitch, but also on Twitter (currently X), which shows us that Hasan has a far-reaching audience that can even reach people on a platform that has algorithms designed to explicitly promote the far-right globally among the youths.
If the New Democrat coalition and the rest of their lot and mafia don’t back Hasan Piker without reserve, it may be the beginning of a political party realignment in America. Hasan certainly won’t back the GOP, but he may back the Greens, or smaller parties like the American Communist Party or the Socialist Party of the United States of America (the legal successor to the historically successful Socialist Party of America). If they let Hasan become openly in favor of a vanguard-style 3rd party, the democrats may just face a mass exodus from the socialist base that now makes up a majority of their voters. If Democrats don’t just embrace their new coalition, but in fact campaign to get the votes of socialists and communists, then they will see their power and influence wane rapidly, like Keir Starmer and the Labour Party in the United Kingdom.
Just some odd two years ago, Labour won its 2nd largest majority ever, and now, they are 4th in the polls in some polling behind not only their traditional rivals, the Conservatives, but also the Greens (who are in some new polling, in first place!), and also the Reform UK party headed by Nigel Farage. An association that should be so toxic that it nukes the party’s chance at winning even one MP, due to Farage’s association with the Brexit 2016 campaign that most Brits now view as having given the wrong result, and having made Britain worse for wear.
If Democrats want to avoid the fate of Starmer, they must not only change their policies and candidates to have a repertoire of socialism and some social democracy, but also embrace the popular figures of the left that have been operating with the left-wing progressive figures of the party since at least 2020, when Hasan Piker went on stream with AOC to play Among Us with his other streamer friends in a GOTV campaign. Democrats win when they embrace the Hasan wing of the party, and when they attempt to go after him, not only will they galvanize support for him, but they will lose 2 times any of the mythical centrist voters they gain.
