Let me be clear: "Europe Must: Unite or Die" was right.

I said this last year, but “Europe Must: Unite Or Die”. However, I don’t think I made anything of the reach or point that I could’ve last year then I did today. So, let me be clear. Europe must and must always become a Federalized Nation State before the end of the century.
Europe, including countries like the UK, and the borderlands between the European Union and Russia, must be included within this state of Europe. So, why do I care at all?
First of all, I am a citizen of France. My Father was born in the south of France, and immigrated to America when he was 17, going to California and then Massachusetts and then New York. He then became a legal citizen of America and married my mother (although my Mom only claimed her right to citizenship after the results of 9/11).
Secondly, the establishment of a European Nation State would stabilize the world against an ascendent view of Fascism. And Fascism is Bad. I think very few people that would ever find their way onto this article would agree with that. However, right now, American democracy is dying. There is an urgency to the change that there may not have been before, because now, Mr. Trump has found himself back in the White House, after being deluded by the MAGA-esque, but more Nazi-esque wing of his party. What I find interesting about American politics, is that the GOP is trying to keep itself the respectable party of the center-right, when there is no more electable center-right in America anymore. But make no mistake, there is still controlled opposition in America.
Tertiarily, Putin must not take an inch of land in Ukraine. Letting him take Ukraine would be the end of the European project. If the EU were to let him (which I do not think they want to do), they would also empower the Trump Administration to dominante the rightist space among Europeans.
Now, I am not, nor have I ever defined myself as a right-wing person. Certainly, as I was born in America, I have called myself a liberal. However, I find that there are real honest critiques of capital that can be borne out from a rational view of the world. This is not a new position for me. I have held that position since 2022. Also kind of 2021, but I was 14 then, so give me some slack.
Materialism, as defined by American culture in the late and early 20th and 21st centuries, has allowed for writing and other things to be worse than they are now. America has a stagnating culture, and we were complacent in letting things not change. America lost its “innovative spark”. However, the Constitution as it is drafted today in America has allowed for a Nation-State that has resisted the changes of the illiberal anti-democratic forces of change in America to be held at bay.
To bring this back to Europe and the EU, I could see great parallels between the EU’s current constitution and America’s Articles of the Confederation. There are fights breaking out between states (nations in Europe, but still). There is a slow degeneration of trust between those who established through unanimous consent. And most importantly, Europe is a democracy. You cannot impose an economic model on any state or nation. The will of the crowd comes up with something good, even if they do coordinate.
Look, I know how this sounds from an American. But please, establish more democracy before it’s too late for you too. We elected baddies. Don’t follow us down the same path (of bad people, and Nazis, like the RN). If you have hope, maybe, just maybe, you can have change. I can’t say this for certain for all people, or for all nations, or for all nation-states, but I can tell you with a great degree of earnestness that if Europe falls, America will too. And even moreso, JD Vance was right, in a sense. America has left European values. Europe still has American values. The exchange of ideas is good, and I support it and I support immigration. But it doesn't seem like the people in power even have the willpower to say it with their chest anymore.
Do not break the cordon sanitaire. But do unite Europe, and do embrace the Left of Europe. If you are so inclined. Do not, under any circumstances, let Reform UK, The AfD, the BSW, RN, or any person selling you something without a reason.
And if you think "Well aren't you?". No, I am selling you a future. You can buy now, or sell later. But it will happen whether you want it to or not. Source: I was a literal salesman and hated it so much I quit despite making money. And I am not talking about this website.
P.S.: there are some things that don’t need to be said about how smart it was for Britain to not remain in Europe. At least they didn’t election reform last time around.
